drip Privacy Policy

Published by Soft Orbit Apps
Effective: 1 November 2026

drip (Android package dev.paisapulse.app, previously developed as PaisaPulse) is an SMS-based money management, budgeting and expense-tracking app. This policy explains what it accesses, what stays on your device, and what happens when you use optional features.

Information stored on your device

drip stores your budget settings, income and expenses, merchants and payee identifiers, categories, account details found in bank alerts, rules and import history in its local app database. For imported transactions, original bank SMS text or CSV narration may be retained locally so you can review the source. There is no drip account or developer-hosted copy of your transaction database.

Bank SMS access and your consent

After a dedicated in-app disclosure, your affirmative agreement and Android permission, drip reads your SMS inbox and receives new SMS to identify bank transactions, account balances and recurring payment alerts. Phone-number senders are filtered out before messages reach the transaction parser; OTPs, offers and unrelated messages are ignored by the parser. Accepted bank alerts are processed on your device. Accepted bank-alert text may be retained with imported records for source review. SMS content and your financial records are not uploaded to Soft Orbit Apps.

Imports run when you open the app and while it is in use. If you install a drip home-screen widget, a short background task can also import supported bank alerts and refresh the widget while the app is closed. Android may delay this task. You can decline SMS access and use manual entries or CSV import instead. To stop SMS access, revoke it in Android Settings → Apps → drip → Permissions.

Network requests and service providers

The app downloads a signed settings file from a service hosted on Cloudflare and, unless you opt out, sends the anonymous usage counts described below. The settings file contains interface settings, feature switches and categorisation rules, not your transactions. Like any internet request, this exposes connection information such as your IP address and request time to the hosting provider. Our application code does not intentionally retain request logs or attach advertising identifiers, account identifiers, SMS or financial records to these requests. The host may process connection data for delivery, security and abuse prevention under its own policies.

Anonymous usage statistics

Unless you switch it off in Settings → App → Share anonymous usage stats, the app sends anonymous usage counts to the same Cloudflare service: that the app was installed or opened, once a day / week / month that it was used (with the app version), how long it was on screen, which main screens were visited, a once-a-minute signal while it is open, and which features are on (budget mode, SMS import on or off, app lock, demo). These are fixed values with no device ID, advertising ID, account, name, SMS, transaction, amount or merchant. The service adds them to hourly totals and does not store the requests or your IP address. Totals are kept for up to 400 days and are used only to understand how many people use drip and how, and to improve it. We can also switch this off for everyone.

drip includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs and makes no external AI calls. We do not sell your information or share your financial records with advertisers.

Backups, exports and support

You can export a backup or choose a folder for automatic backups. Files contain financial information and may include source bank-alert text. Backups are not encrypted by drip. They are written only to the location you choose. If that location syncs to a cloud provider, that provider handles the files under its own terms. Automatic backups keep the latest 10 daily files by default; the retention limit can change through app configuration. Older automatic files are removed only after a successful new backup. Manual exports and other copies remain until you delete them.

If you email us, the information you choose to send is handled by the email service. Please redact bank alerts, account details and other private information before sending a support request. We use support information to respond and troubleshoot and retain it only as needed for that purpose or legal obligations.

Device security and widgets

Optional app lock uses Android's biometric or screen-lock system. drip does not receive your fingerprint, face template, PIN or password. Local storage relies on Android's app sandbox and device protections; drip does not add its own database encryption. Widgets can display budget totals on the launcher; the app-lock setting hides their amounts while enabled. Consider who can see your home screen.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete them. Use Settings → Data → Delete data, Android's Clear storage, or uninstall the app to remove its local data. Previously exported backups and cloud-synced copies must be deleted separately. Revoking SMS permission stops future access but does not erase previously imported records. No account-deletion request is needed because drip has no user accounts.

Children and financial decisions

drip is intended for adults managing their own budgets and is not directed to children under 13. It does not provide banking, loans, payments, investment execution or personalised financial advice. Budget calculations are estimates based on the data and settings you provide; check them against your bank records.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app's behavior changes and will update the effective date above. For privacy questions or requests about information you have sent to support, contact softorbit.apps@gmail.com.
